Open Doors / Open Gates Weekend


The Open Doors / Open Gates Weekend is an exclusive weekend showcasing design in Fort Worth. This larger event encompasses the AIA Fort Worth Homes Tour and the Historic Fort Worth’s Garden Tour. This years event occurs May 18th and May 19th. With 1800+ attendees, designated neighborhoods of our city are teeming with design enthusiasts. Exterior to interior, historic to present, exclusive residences in our city are on display and are ready to inspire your next architecture + landscape project. Come learn about the story of Fort Worth neighborhoods and the process of working with an architect. The Open Doors/ Open Gates Weekend is presented by Historic Fort Worth Inc., American Institute of Architects Fort Worth Chapter and DFW Section of the Texas American Society of Landscape Architects.


AIA Fort Worth Homes Tour

Event Date May 18th 12pm – 6pm
What do I do when I start the tour (at the first house)? Proceed to the check-in desk and purchase a ticket or exchange your digital or printed receipt for a wristband
Where do I go when I get to the remaining houses? Show you band to the volunteer at the door and enter into the house.
What parts of the property is included on the tour? House, Front Yard and Back Yard

Admission Cost & Ticketing Information

Individual Event Ticket Presale $20 Eventbright
Individual Event Ticket Weekend $25 All Access or $10 (Purchase at any Tour House)
Children Children free with an adult ticket purchase
What does the Physical ticket look like? Wristband (attendees can purchase their wristbands at the tour or pre-purchased ticket receipts can be exchanged for a wrist band at the tour.
Stroller Policy No strollers in the homes or on the property – devices that strap baby directly to a parent (infant carriers) welcome
Photography Policy Absolutely no photos taken inside of the homes by tour attendees. Press and Media Members must wear media badge available at House A check-in tent.
Shoe Policy Must Wear Socks in the homes or Provided Shoecovers
Food and Drink Policy No Food and Drinks in the Homes
Restroom Policy Attendees will not be allowed to use restrooms in homes; no public restrooms available


Hidden Garden Tour

Event Date May 19th 12pm - 6pm
What do I do when I start the tour (at the first house)? Proceed to the check-in desk at will call garden: 2441 Lofton Terrace. You name will be on a list and you will receive your garden booklet.
Where do I go when I get to the remaining houses? Check in at the desk and get your Garden Booklet checked off.
What parts of the property is included on the tour? Back Yard / Private Gardens
