FEBRUARY/MARCH

Each year, AIA Fort Worth gathers our design community for an evening dedicated to celebrating architecture and those who shape the built environment of our city. At this annual awards ceremony, we recognize the most recent Honor Awards recipients alongside the Professional and Student Design Award winners.

APRIL

We host a golf tournament each year with the Construction Specifications Institute presented by Acme Brick. Proceeds from the tournament will provide for student scholarships and community projects of both organizations.

APRIL

Architecture Week celebrates the profession of architecture and invites everyone—especially K-12 students—to explore architecture and design. We all play key roles in educating and inspiring the next generation of architects. Let's build the pipeline together.  

MAY

Every other year, we host the AIA Fort Worth Homes Tour. It is a showcase of outstanding residential architecture designed by local, licensed architects. The two-day event is a self-guided tour of elite homes in Fort Worth and surrounding cities.

Our Emerging Professionals committee organizes tours to local architecture firms.

EVENTS QUARTERLY

WiA focuses on opportunities for women in our professional community to engage and network, share ideas and experiences and generally come together to support one another.

SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER

Teams of architects, engineers, and students compete to design and build giant structures made entirely from full cans of food. At the close of the exhibitions all the canned food used in the structures is donated to the Tarrant Area Food Bank.

THROUGHOUT THE YEAR

AIA Fort Worth organizes tours throughout the year of current architectural projects and recent design award recipients.

OCTOBER

Architects, consultants, contractors and other design and construction-related individuals form teams to compete for bragging rights and “Top Gun” honors in a collaborative and festive atmosphere and enjoy BBQ from the Cook Off!

OCTOBER/NOVEMBER

Our Design Awards program recognizes outstanding built and unbuilt urban design projects by architects practicing in the Fort Worth chapter. The evening begins with the announcement of the year’s award-winning projects, highlighting the best in local design. Then we are treated to a lecture by one of the jurors.

NOVEMBER

Each year, AIA Fort Worth gives Honors and Awards to various members, projects, individuals and groups for their outstanding achievements and service to the profession of architecture and the community.

DECEMBER

The AIA Fort Worth Excellence in Design Student Awards Program recognizes outstanding work by students of the 8 accredited architecture schools of Texas. Annually, a jury of prominent regional architects is assembled to select projects for recognition.

DECEMBER

We celebrate the end of each year by joining our partner organizations for a holiday party to food, beverages, festivities, and gingerbread structures that on display from our Gingerbread Build-Off! This sugary design-build event provides an opportunity for building industry professionals to show off their design skills.
